BROWNSVILLE, Texas – It may be simple task for many, but for those with disabilities it could be the experience of a lifetime. A partnership between the Brownsville Independent School District, Cinemark, and the Order of the Alhambra commemorate kids at the movies. 

It’s a special event where special needs children from BISD and the surrounding areas enjoy a movie at the Brownsville theater.

Manuel Mendoza – Order of the Alhambra, “The independent school district helps us out in bringing the kids in together. We’ve also included kids from Port Isabel, Los Fresnos, and Rio Hondo.”

For some children with special needs, loud sounds and bright lights could be make an uncomfortable experience. This program allows children a unique insight into something we may take for granted.
