A special prom night will again take place in Erie.
The second Night to Shine, an event for people age 14 and older with special needs, will be held Feb. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Concourse of Union Station, 121 W. 14th St.
The Erie event is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted locally by Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Similar events will take place at more than 600 churches nationwide.
The foundation’s intent is to provide an unforgettable prom night experience for people with special needs. About 130 guests are expected to attend the Erie Night to Shine, organizers said.
Guests will start their evening by walking on a red carpet and end the night with a video message from Tebow when all are crowned kings and queens of the prom. Music, flowers, photographs and more will be part of the special night.
Buddy volunteers will accompany guests and a respite party for parents and caretakers will be offered at the adjacent Brewerie at Union Station, organizers said.
